Many organizations are relying on inspecting in quality instead of controlling the process.

Many production lines are managed by employees who have many years of experience but with varying opinions on how to manage product quality. Typically, each shift adjusts the machine settings based on their own feel for the process instead of on scientific knowledge.

This "Tampering" causes excessive variation and reduced quality levels.

Strategies for manufacturers include:

  • Training in statistical methods for the operators to know when to adjust the machine and when to leave it alone

  • Projects to utilize the Lean Six Sigma methodology to scientifically understand the factors that affect product quality and their actual settings to reduce variation

  • Lean Six Sigma training for your Leaders to better understand how to solve problems effectively and to install controls to sustain the improvements

  • ISO 9001- Quality Management Systems, Requirements.  The standard does NOT define the actual quality of your product or service - it helps you achieve consistent results and continually improve the process. Thus, if you can make a good product most of the time, this helps you make it all of the time. It's just good business practice.

The Black and Green Belt Training utilizes the Blended Learning method which utilizes on line training through Moresteam.com and hands on workshops.

A Master Black Belt will mentor you One-on-One through the tools and completion of two projects (one lean and one six sigma).  This course usually takes about 8 months to complete and obtain certification.

The Yellow Belt 8 Hour Workshop takes you through the basic DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) framework and problem solving process.

You will begin to build a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) toolkit that will help you both in your job and in discussions about cost saving projects.

You will learn about waste and variation, why they are a problem in an organization and how to reduce them.

The specific learning objectives are designed to help you to not only become aware of LSS, but also to become familiar with the practical application of the tools you’ll learn about.

During the Yellow Belt workshop, you’ll learn several basic tools which are the foundations of any successful DMAIC project.  These tools include the following:

  • Project Charters
  • Voice of the Customer
  • Process Maps
  • Histograms
  • Run Charts
  • Paretos
  • Control Charts
  • Brainstorming
  • Eight Wastes
  • Cause and Effect Diagram
  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Five S
  • Control Plans

We also provide training in many of the Quality Tools (tailored to your organization!)

Some of the General training that we provide:

  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Statistical Process Control
  • 5S
  • Measurement System Analysis
  • Capability Analysis
  • Lean Manufacturing

Companies and organizations are realizing that they need to reduce waste in their processes to better serve their customers and clients.

Many processes are inefficient and are not documented, managed or improved. These complex processes lead to frustration and loss of profits for businesses.

We conduct Process Mapping of the current state and brainstorm ideas with your team to improve the process.

Some strategies include the following;

  • Conduct Kaizens to identify and eliminate waste in customer critical processes
  • Conduct Kaizens to improve a production line's productivity and capacity
